I'm a user-centered designer.

I have over 15 years of success in high-performance UX design roles delivering award-winning websites, applications, and micro-sites for companies across multiple industries. I am skilled in collaborating with members across all organizational areas to drive UX and UI innovation and achieve exceptional project deliverables. I continually incorporate in depth user data and research and work to stay informed of latest UX trends.

User experience is core to what I do. Design decisions should be informed and backed by data and user insights. Only then will interfaces work as intended.

My user interface design methodology is iterative and lean. Testing from low to high-fidelity on users ensures interfaces meet user expectations.

I received a masters degree in human computer interaction (HCI) where I learned a wide-range of user-centered design methodologies that I continue to put into practice.

2019–Present

Fidelity Investments

Director, Digital User Experience

As the Director of Digital User Experience for Fidelity's institutional business unit, I am focused on supporting sales, marketing and client services to create, improve and establish a more unified customer experience. My team is actively working on research, strategy and design related initiatives. Sample projects include:

  • Improving Navigation:
    Working with business partners I identified a new site architecture to improve findability of core content for users. Through rounds of tree-testing both internally with stakeholders and externally with end users I optimized the architecture to achieve a clear first click and task success rate to prove if the new architecture worked.
  • Modernizing Client Services Log In:
    The log in screen for client services was out-dated and non-responsive; it also was siloed for certain client types. I worked with several teams to develop a new log in screen that routed all users to their associated accounts from a single screen. The new log in has reduced support calls for log in issues dramatically.
  • Visioning New Tools:
    Collaborating in fast design sprints with business partners, I iteratively designed a prototype tool to help the team provide a vision to upper management to secure funding for the project. The project is now in development and set to launch later this year.

Fusion92

Associate Director, UX

As Assoc. Director, UX at Fusion92 I've lead the effort to grow our internal UX team and establish processes that integrate the UX discipline across team functions at the agency. I've lead my team on a variety of web and app projects throughout multiple development stages, from user research to IA to prototyping and design. Sample clients include:

  • Zurich North America:
    I lead my team to execute a heuristic evaluation of their primary website and claims portal. Simulaneously, I recommended implementing Hotjar, a user interaction tool that helped my team see inter-page interactions and usage as well as the ability to collect qualitative feedback. The analysis helped them identify major issues to be be corrected immediately and others that should be addressed as part of a larger redesign.
  • Navistar:
    I guided my team to execute stakeholder intake sessions and research for the upcoming redesign of Navistar's remote diagnostics and telematics website. Through user interviews my team created personas and user journeys, then reworked the information architecture and tested it on users in low-fidelity wireframes. The insights we gathered provided a strong foundation for the next phase of the site design.
  • DailyFX:
    I took the user data provided by our client to inform the foundational redesign of their website. Taking learnings from user interviews, heat maps and analytics I restructured the information architecture to promote better site engagement. Utilizing low-fidelity wireframes, my team tested users on key tasks and collected qualitative feedback, which we used to develop a strong foundation that successfully helped users engage and find relevant content.
2016–18

Fusion92

Associate Creative Director

My first two years at Fusion92 were in the role of Assoc. Creative Director working with multiple disciplines (creative, UX, media and technology) to help deliver award-winning multi-channel product marketing and branding programs for our clients.
Sample clients include:

  • Cboe:
    I've directed a variety of projects for Cboe, from mobile app and website redesigns to rebranding and merger-focused marketing projects that included their digital and offline presence. I managed my team though tight timelines and high expectations to deliver a final product that our client was excited about and proud of.
  • Gallagher:
    Working on marketing projects for Gallagher's annual benefits strategy reports I lead my team in the development of a messaging platform that worked to relate to the core needs and issues HR professionals are up against in the industry. The client selected one of our ideas to grow and scale their marketing efforts, and the fresh approach has been well received by HR professionals.
  • OANDA:
    I've worked on dozens of website and multi-channel marketing campaigns for OANDA, a global trading company, and lead teams to develop efficient and flexible solutions that we utilized for testing and to learn from. Campaigns included HTML5 display, social media, email, contextual ads and landing pages. Our lean approach to design allowed our media team to efficiently optimize campaigns to exceed our client's goals.
2006–16

Dean Media

Marketing Director

As the marketing director I was responsible for Dean’s corporate and product marketing. To promote their new audience targeting platform FinancialAudiences™; I planned and executed a multi-channel marketing campaign and study in partnership with the Gramercy Institute to prove how audience targeting was changing the way financial marketers do their jobs in the digital age. My efforts helped to garner new business and make a name for our platform in the industry.

As creative director, I played an instrumental role in helping the business grow from a start up to an award-winning Financial Marketing company. We earned creative and media business from several global financial clients and earned the Inc. 500 award over 3 times in a row.
